JUNIOR GYM
Our Junior Gym
Program is for our junior gymnasts from 18 months to 5 years old. Most of the
classes will be held in our Junior Gym, where the equipment is scaled down to a
smaller size to accommodate for little bodies! All children learn at different
speeds-our program is designed to break down each skill so that small successes
are enjoyed throughout the process!
Parent
& Tot This class is designed for children from 18 months to 3
yrs of age. Emphasis is placed on fine and gross motor skills, coordination,
and an introduction to all gymnastics equipment. Parental participation is
required while having fun and developing confidence.
Tiny Tots 1 & 2 Tiny Tot classes are
designed for the 3& 4 year olds as an introduction to gymnastics. Lesson
plans include time on all gymnastics equipment -floor, bars, rings, trampoline,
beam, and vault. Motor skills, coordination, and flexibility are emphasized, as
well as working with others, independence, and self-confidence.
Kindergym Kindergym is our program for 5 year
olds. This is a transitional class, working on moving from the smaller
equipment into the "big" gym with standard equipment. Gender-specific classes
are offered as well as co-ed classes.
STARS RECREATIONAL PROGRAM
Our Stars
Recreational Program is offered for boys and girls ages 6 & up. Classes are
divided by gender and level. The Stars program is progressional, so each level
builds on the foundation learned in the previous level. Terminology, correct
technique, self-confidence and a good work ethic are emphasized.
Gymnasts will be evaluated every other month to track their progress
and mastering of skills. Gymnasts will learn skills on the following equipment:
vault, bars, beam, floor, and tramp for girls; vault, bars, parallel bars,
pommel horse, rings, floor and trampoline for boys.
Red Stars classes are for boys and girls ages
6 and up. Gymnastics and tumbling skills are taught on brand new, state of the
art equipment, by a highly trained staff. Classes are divided by levels, so the
individual needs of each student are met. Lesson plans are based on a
progression system, with advancement and awards. Mini in-house competitions and
shows will be held throughout the year so your child can perform for family and
friends.
Orange, Yellow & Green
Stars These next 3 levels focus on building on the foundation set
in the previous level. These classes strive to further develop flexibility,
strength, balance, and intermediate gymnastics skills. Dance skills are
introduced in the girl's classes, and a stronger emphasis is placed on
improving strength and flexibility.
Blue Stars
Blue Stars is for those gymnasts who have advanced through the
Stars levels but who do not want to compete. Advanced gymnastics skills will be
taught, and students will have the chance to choreograph their own routines on
each event. A show will be held twice a year for students to show off all
they've learned!
TRAMP &
TUMBLING
Our Tramp & Tumbling classes focus on learning
skills on floor, trampoline, and the double mini trampoline. Students will
build progressively on each event to move to the next level. T&T is for
ages 6 & up.
T&T Basics
T& T Basics is an introduction to all tumbling equipment and skills.
Stations and drills are used to learn fundamental tumbling.
Beginning
T&T The Beginning T&T class builds on the foundations
learned in the Basic class. This class is required before moving on in the
T&T program or to the BHS class.
Intermediate & Adv T&T These classes
begin to teach intermediate and advanced T&T skills. Once higher level
skills are mastered, students have the option of competing with our T&T
Team, or going to the Adv. T&T class.
SPECIALITY CLASSES
Back
Handspring Class The BHS Class is strictly focused on learning
back handsprings. Mastery of the Beginning T&T class or equivalent is
required for enrollment. This is a great class for students involved in other
activities, such as cheerleading or dance. No trampoline or double mini.
Beyond Back Handsprings This
class is just what it sounds-learning skills beyond back handsprings! Front
tucks, back tucks, layouts, Arabians, and twisting will be taught. No
trampoline or double mini.
